www.facebook.com/pages/Studying-For-Exams-Made-Simple/6046673814
I can almost guarantee that once you’ve seen all the videos (including the one’s I’m still making for you), and implemented what I’m saying in the way you study, your exam results are going to improve dramatically.
So go to my Facebook Page and click "Become a fan" in the top right corner (you’ll need to sign up if you’re not already a Facebook member). Once you do you’ll be notified whenever I make a new video for you.
See you there!
Moving To Facebook
June 11, 2008 – 12:20 amLots of students have been contacting me and telling me that they haven’t been getting my emails about any new videos I’ve been making. Either their friends told them or they just happened to check the blog and found a new video had been posted.
Apparently lots of emails are mistaken as spam by various internet service providers… even when they’re not.
Consequently… I’ve decided to move all my contact with you over to Facebook so I can keep in touch with everyone more reliably. It’ll be a much better way for us to talk to each other and together we can fight this whole exam thing and I can help you guys get over the line with the best results possible.
So… I’ve created a special page you can visit just for all of us. You can leave messages, invite your friends to join us, and I’ll be able to let you know reliably when I’ve made more videos for you.
Just make sure you click the BECOME A FAN link in the top right hand corner of the page so I can keep you updated. Click the image below to go to my new Facebook page…
Feedback
June 8, 2008 – 3:12 pmWell I’ve finally found some time to put this next video together for you. It’s all about why you need to have a system of feedback in place when you’re studying for your exams. Every successful sportsperson, musician, company etc. all make use of the principle of feedback and if you want to be successful as well (in exams) then you need to do the same.
Only problem is… most feedback you currently receive is from the end of year exams… when it’s too late!
There’s two main sources of feedback… the first is external mainly from other people eg teachers, tutors, students, friends and examiners. The second is the type of feedback you generate yourself (reflection). This is the type of feedback you have total control over and can get the most benefit from.
Once again… this video explains the strategy behind my study system but not the actual tactics. It explains the ‘why’ but not the ‘how’. Either you figure that out for yourself or you can discover it in Studying For Exams Made Simple.
Time Management
May 23, 2008 – 9:12 amHi guys…
Just dropped in to let you know I’m working on getting the next video out to you real soon. My new Mac computer decided to spit the dummy and I’ve been "computerless" for about a week… it had a dose of "the black screen of death". It’s all better now (cards and chocolates welcome) and I’m trying to get some time in my busy schedule to make another video for you (didn’t know life on a tropical island was meant to be so busy).
The next video will be about the importance of feedback if you want to beat the geeks so hang in there. Should have it done in a few days.
Easy Test Maker
May 14, 2008 – 11:36 pmHi guys… Just came across this web site that I thought you might find interesting. Check it out at…
It’s a free online tool that you can use to create your own tests which ties in really well with the video I made for you about the “Question / Answer Reflex”. I had a bit of a play with it and it looks like it could be useful for training your own Q&A reflexes. It’ll train you in skills that are 100% relevant to those you’ll need for the exams (just like I said in the video about training to be really good in your favorite sport).
Anyway… check it out and if you think it’s a good study tool let me know here on the blog and I’ll make a video about it. This is another technique you can use to stay focused on studying in a way that will directly help you with your study skills. As I’ve been telling you from the start of these videos, most students waste their time studying in a way that has nothing to do with performing well in the exams (those students can go and practice their highlighting skills!).
Making Mistakes
May 11, 2008 – 11:53 pmJust finished the third video in this series and this one is about the importance of learning from your mistakes when you’re studying. In addition, it’s a great way to draw attention to those areas of your study material that you need to devote more time to.
I was able to use the power of learning from mistakes with devastating consequences in my exam results and if you understand and apply this principle to your study techniques… no reason why it can’t do the same for you.
As always… I look forward to all your comments and questions, and please leave me a digg comment (the little man with the shovel under the video).
The “Question / Answer Reflex”
May 3, 2008 – 4:43 pmWell here it is at last… the next video in this series about making fundamental changes to the way you study for exams.
Sorry that it’s taken so long to get out to you but I’ve been really busy this week and managed to find some time this weekend to put it together for you.
This video is all about a term I came up with called… The “Question / Answer Reflex”. The video will explain all about it but once again I’d appreciate all your feedback and questions. It gives me motivation to keep putting these things together for you.
Just one favor… Could you please vote on my video by giving me a digg? (just click the little guy with the shovel below the video). Thanks…
Hope the video helps…
Fundamental Changes To How You Study
April 22, 2008 – 7:58 amHi everyone… here’s the first video in the series I’m putting together on how to make fundamental changes to the way you study.
Make sure you leave me a comment or a question, and some feedback. I want these videos to make a big difference to how you study and consequently… your exam results.
By the way… I’m going to give away my complete study system and all the bonuses worth over $400 to the person with the best comment or question. You can check out all the bonuses here…
Incredible Response!
April 16, 2008 – 12:03 pmI can’t believe the incredible response to my first video in this series about making fundamental changes to the way you study.
Seems like lots of students are really sick of all the rehashed ineffective study tips that are floating around at the moment and are looking for something that really works.
Well the good news is I really believe I can deliver on my promise to make a positive change to your exam results so stay with me guys.
Just a quick summary of the intro video…
What I was really trying to get across to you in the video is that being good at exams is a lot like learning how to play your favorite sport. You have to use the skills required to perform at the highest possible level.
Studying for exams is exactly the same. Stop focusing on rewriting text books, highlighting everything (some students end up highlighting more information compared with what they don’t highlight), and doing all the things that won’t improve your performance in the exams.
So what do you do? Well I’m going to explain lots more to you in the coming videos which I’m working on right now so make sure you’re all signed up so I can send them to you.
I promise to totally change the way you study for your exams so I hope you’re hyped!
By the way… to keep up with new information added to this blog, just enter your email address in the box on the right and you’ll receive an instant email update.
